PLANNED GIVING - BEQUESTS - TRUSTS

Since our inception in 1978 the Southbury Land Trust has received several generous bequests written into the wills of people who valued what we do.
Financial contributions such as these from our supporters enable us to continue preserving and stewarding beautiful and important open space properties throughout our town.
Some people think we are part of Southbury's town government but we are an entirely separate IRS approved nonprofit organization supported financially by our members.

For many people, including a gift to the Land Trust in their will is both a meaningful and a practical option which costs them nothing during their lifetime. No matter your age, every adult should have a will. Otherwise you leave important decisions up to a local court and state laws which makes things more difficult for your loved ones. A will provides protections for family, children, pets and gives you an opportunity to help organizations like ours continue to make a difference in this world.
Creating a will doesn't have to be expensive or time consuming. You can work with a professional advisor or create a basic will online. If you already have a will, it's easy to add a bequest of any amount you feel is appropriate to the Southbury Land Trust.
